Where is the carnival held?

Across Peel's East Quay and along Victoria Road (the promenade).

Road Closures/Clear Ways and Reverses

To allow for a smooth carnival for our residents and visitors we have applied for the following road closures/clear ways and reverses. Alternative parking is available on the headlands with a free shuttle bus from the Headlands to Marine Parade and parking attendants to assist.

Disabled parking is available on the harbour park (before Fenella and after the bridge) the full TTRN can be viewed here;

General Road Closures

The accessing roads to East Quay and Victoria Road (the promenade), will be closed from 10am - 6pm.

All things Peel Carnival will be based from the House of Manannan, all the way to the Creg Malin.

No vehicle access via:

  1. Station Place
  2. St Peters Lane
  3. Crown Street
  4. Crown Street
  5. Factory Lane
  6. Market Street
  7. Queen Street
  8. Bridge Street
  9. Stanley Road
  10. Walpole Road

Prohibition of Parking

  • Church Street - on both sides for its entire length.
  • Bridge Street - on the western side between the boundaries of numbers 7 and 11.
  • Cross Street - on both sides between its junction with Stanley Road and its junction with Circular Road.
  • Stanley Mount - on both sides between its junction with Bridge Street and Cross Street.
  • Christian Street - on the southern side fronting 'Gales Fayre'.

One-way Restrictions & Suspensions

  • Stanley Road - between its junction with Peveril Road and its junction with Cross Street - Reversal of existing one-way; vehicles may only travel in an easterly direction.
  • Cross Street - between its junction with Stanley Mount and its junction with Circular Road - One Way; vehicles may only travel in a southerly direction.
  • Circular Road - from Cross Street to Stanley Mount - One Way; vehicles may only travel in a westerly direction.
  • Stanley Mount - between Bridge Street and Cross Street - One-Way; vehicles may only travel in a northerly and then easterly direction.
  • Duke Street - between Beach Street and Bridge Street - One-Way; vehicles may only travel in an easterly direction.
  • Bridge Street - between Duke Street and Stanley Mount - Reversal of existing One-Way; on this section of Bridge Street ONLY, vehicles may only travel in a southerly direction.

Please bear in mind that this is subject to change in the lead up to the event, so be sure to check the above link or our socials to keep up-to-date on what’s happening.

How to Enter Parade

  1. Sign up your entry
    • Sign up on the day
      • Head to the Sign-in Desks Located at The House of Manannan from 12.30pm onwards.
      • Fill out the parade entry form.
      • Receive your participant number.
    • Sign up online
      • This year we're offering entrants the chance to sign up to our parade in advance with our brand new online form.
      • Simply head to our entry form here and fill in your details and submit to secure your spot in the parade.
      • On the day, please make your way to The House of Mannanan to pick up your participant number before 1pm judging.
  2. Prepare your entry
    • Make sure your entries are ready and make any last adjustments.
    • Line up at the designated parade category section for judging and the parade.
  3. Judging information
    • Judging starts at 1pm.
  4. Parade time!
    • Once 2.15pm hits, Get ready to march and have fun!

Where to park?

We have been granted full access to the Headlands site and the gates will be open for parking from 10am on carnival day.

Follow the arrows leading you up to the Headlands, just off of Peveril Road to the left. As if you were heading to Kirk Michael via the coastal road. From here you can easily walk down to the festivities or hop on our shuttle bus that will be available throughout the day to drop you closer to our event.

Disabled parking can be found at the Harbour car park, this is located just before Fenella Beach car park.
